Why has Wine Australia decided to create Savour 2013?

There’s some really positive sentiment around Australian wine in some of our major export markets. It’s important to build on this momentum and showcase the diversity and quality of Australian wine to the world’s most influential wine trade professionals including retailers, sommeliers, importers and distributors, food and beverage professionals and wine and lifestyle media. What better way to do this than on Australian soil.

Savour Australia 2013 is the biggest and most comprehensive Australian wine forum ever undertaken. The three-day business forum will challenge the commonly held perceptions of Australian wine and uncover the business case for Australian wine on Australian soil. It’s a complete immersion into the Australian wine industry, including our wines, wine regions, winemakers and innovative approaches to winemaking, presented by Australia’s leading winemakers and international wine personalities.

Savour Australia 2013 aims to:

  • Enable the wine trade and media to experience Australia’s wine, food and produce in a real and meaningful way on Australian soil.
  • Showcase the quality, diversity and regionality of Australian wine alongside Australia’s winemakers, wine regions, cuisine and chefs.
  • Give wine producers of all sizes an opportunity to showcase their wines to the world.
  • Uncover the business case for Australian wine.
  • Move the promotion of wine into the lifestyle sector and lay the foundations for the major consumer-facing food and wine campaign, which will be launched in 2014.
  • Build a higher value premium perception of Australian wine and develop Australia’s food and wine offering to be more relevant to the decision making process for travel to and within Australia.
